Bangkok is a crazy place, full of extremes with action on every corner. Traveling around, I took my sketchbook everywhere. I visited beautiful temples, drew market scenes around Chinatown, drew cityscapes from hotels and shopping malls, and enjoyed a longtail boat through the floating markets. Of course, I loved the food - from local dishes in funky street stalls to fancy restaurants.
Some more drawings from the Philippines. I drew these during a stay in Baguio, which I really enjoyed. Beautiful place, even though everyone kept telling me it was getting too crowded. And lots of green!
The model was really cool. She wore a hat that she made out of found objects in India. It was beautiful and colourful and bit heavy. So, not only did she do fantastic poses with her hat, it was actually quite hard to hold them!
Here are the three last drawings I did, done in oil pastel, coloured pencil, markers...
I came back from Thailand a month ago, and loved it. It was such a great place, with beautiful landscapes and beautiful people. I'll share my pictures and drawings with you of each place I visited in Thailand.
One of the places we visited is Phi Phi Island. It was an amazing place, and I lived in the tree house you can see in some of the drawings. Lots of greens, as well as pure blues in the water.
Visited my friend's studio the other day and had a little art jam. Not a collaborative one, but one in which we just pulled out some art materials and worked on our paintings with spontaneous gestures. I ended up using acrylic, crayon, pastel, gouache, markers.
Things that were in my head at the time were memories of sunlight, leaves, a view from my kitchen window, fabrics, a woman.
On another note, I have finally a new scanner and this was the first picture I scanned. More drawings to come, including some from a recent trip to Thailand!
