A while ago, I finished the Walk to Studio painting. It's a multilayered experiment to represent a range of experiences during my everyday action of walking to the studio, which for me is a 10 minute walk to through the St Kilda Botanical Gardens, past Acland Street and down Barkly St.
A mix of nature and urban landscapes, roads, trees, walls, bricks, birds and cars.
Final photos and installation (I included the chair for scale):
Walk to Studio, 2009
Acrylic, enamel, pastel, charcoal, graphite, tracing paper, masking tape, coloured pencil on paper
152 x 195 cm
Since its such a big work, its hard to actually see on a computer screen, so here's a few closeups. I find the closeups quite interesting in themselves.
