Les Murray is a famous Australian poet. In my local library they held a poetry night, and he came, he spoke, and recited some of his poetry. He was a large man, with a powerful presence, yet exuded a relaxed, down=to-earth air.
I sat in the back somewhere with my sketchbook. Here are some drawings I made of the night:
Les Murray himself, with the microphones.
Various other poets, audience members, imaginary head, experimental space.
A mixture of stuff from my imagination I made at home later. I used a bit of paint and coloured markers here.
